Kidcam at City Park is open to boys and girls, ages 4-13 years old.
ACTIVITIES
There are a wide array of activities that create the fun by which KidcamŽ Summer Day Camps are known. There is no extra charge for any of the activities. Some of these activities include: Amusement rides at Carousel Gardens, Storyland, New Orleans Museum of Art, Botanical Gardens, train rides, canoing, horseback riding, tennis lessons, swimming, yoga and fitness, water sliding, giant inflatables, sports clinics, arts and crafts, and a variety of indoor and outdoor games and activities.

*Campers will have access to the air-conditioned Birthday Cottages, as well as the Birthday Cottage in Storybook Land. There will be a waterslide available M-W and younger campers will be allowed to cool off in the wading fountain at the entrance to the Amusement Park on Water Play days, and older campers will swim at least twice a week at Sunrise Country Club next to Lafreniere Park. There is also a shaded, covered pavillion for camper activities. Campers will utilize air-conditioned parts of the park such as Ice Cream in the Casino building, the classrooms of the Botanical Gardens, and a visit to the Art Museum.
Lunch is not provided however Kidcam offers campers an afternoon snack.

DROP OFF:
Our morning drop off is located
on Stadium Drive, which runs between City Park Carousel Gardens and Tad
Gormley Stadium. We open the gates at 7:00 each morning and they remain
open until 9:00 or 9:05. After that time, we'll lock the gates and any late
arriving campers must be checked in through the camp office located at the
main entrance to Storyland on Victory Avenue.
PICK UP: In
the afternoon, we run our carpool line from the gates on Stadium Drive from
3:00 until about 3:15. At that time, we lock the gates and move our
remaining campers to the aftercare program, which is located at the camp
office in Storyland. Aftercare runs from 3:15 until 6:00 each evening.

Please note that
there will be no camp on Monday, May 31st in observance of Memorial Day. The
first day of camp will be June 1, 2010. We have discounted the first week
because of the holiday.

Camp Director

Craig Laborde
is a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. After graduating from
Archbishop Rummel School, Craig earned a B.S. in Business Administration
from Nicholls State University and started a 15 year career in law
enforcement. Craig has been involved in high school athletics for almost 20
years and has extensive experience with both AAU sports programs and with
the Jefferson Parish Recreational Dept. In 2008, Craig decided to make a
career change and obtained highly qualified status as a middle school
science teacher. He is currently employed by Miller McCoy Academy, a new
charter school in Orleans Parish, where he heads up the physical education
department and is the head football and baseball coach for the Lions. This
is Craig’s second year as part of the Kidcam family.
